Congratulations to Renee M. of Stephens City, winner of our latest drawing! Renee's kind words and a moment of her time have earned her $10 off her next visit to Studio 915 Salon. Thanks Renee, & thanks to everyone who entered!

Q: Why don't you have a sign out front?
A: Believe me, we would love to. But because our property is zoned as "residential" and not "commercial", we are not permitted to advertise our business on location. Yes, everything across the street is VERY commercal, and we even have the Liberty Red Apple gas station down on the corner of our block, but we are still residential. Our business is permitted here because it is considered a "home-based business", the same as just having an office in your home. According to the City zoning we are not allowed to display anything that may indicate we have a business on the premises, but our operation is perfectly legal.

Q: I never know how to tip at a salon. I've also heard that you should not tip the owner of a salon. Is this true?
A: This is a difficult question to answer because the answer is so subjective. There is an old rule floating around that you should not tip the owner of a salon because he/she takes a cut of all the other stylist's services. Others confuse this with not tipping the owner in addition to the stylist, shampoo assistant and blow-dry assistant. Well, in our salon Scott is THE stylist, THE shampoo-er and THE blow-dryer, and just happens to be the owner, too. There are no other stylists or assistants paying rent here, so what he makes is what he makes- that's it. Our prices are fair, and that's all we expect you to pay. If you choose to tack on $1, $3, $5, $10, or even $20, that's totally up to you, depending on your satisfaction with the services. Anything we receive above & beyond the price is considered a gift, and we are grateful, never offended. Expecting a tip is tacky. Our greatest compliment is your return for services and your referrals of friends, family & co-workers.

Q: Do you do nails?
A: No, we are strictly in the hair business. This allows us to narrow our focus to delivering the ultimate in care for the health of your hair. (yes, I know that rhymes, but it's true!)

Q: I've had bad salon experiences in the past. How can I be sure Studio 915 Salon is right for me?
A: The anticipation of trying a new stylist can be a nail-biting experience, especially if you've been less-than-satisfied with salons in the past. Of course, to be honest, we can make no guarantees that Studio 915 will be the perfect salon for you. The best we can do is let you know that at our salon, you will receive expert attention to the needs of your hair by a certified cosmetologist who cares. You will not be elbow-to-elbow with other clients, but resting comfortably in an cozy atmosphere that is an extension of our home. Please feel free to be your genuine self, and we will both enjoy the experience of getting to know each other. We believe our work speaks for itself, so the best way for you to get an idea of our salon is to see what others are saying. Just Google "Studio 915 Salon" for a list of pages where our clients have given their testimonials of Scott's skills.

Q: Who is "we"? I thought Scott was the only stylist in your salon.
A: You're right, Scott is the only one at Studio 915 that will be doing your hair (don't worry). But I say "we" because I work here too! I'm Lisa, Scott's wife, and Studio 915 is our salon. I manage the website, book appointments, run to the store for supplies and even fold towels once in a while. When I'm not providing this behind-the-scenes support for the salon, I'm a mom, freelance graphic designer, and substitute elementary school teacher. Just let me know what I can do for you!
